Zambia Sugar Plc is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd Group and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar, and other sugar downstream products. The company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions under the Commercial department.

1. Regional Sales Manager – North x1 – Permanent
This position reports to the Commercial Director and will be based in Ndola. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales volume and revenue targets through implementation of sales strategies and plans in the region and effective leadership of the sales team.

Key Performance Areas
– Lead execution of the ABFS Sales Way across different trade segments in the region.
– Develop and implement regional sales plans to achieve agreed sales targets.
– Develop and strengthen customer relationships in the region.
– Implement actions to enhance customer service and satisfaction.
– Work with the Route to Consumer (RTC) Manager to implement, review, and optimize RTC strategy and performance in the region.
– Collaborate across the Commercial team and other functions to support effective sales and customer service execution.
– Provide input into the country Commercial strategy.
– Prepare sales budgets and updates to deliver regional Commercial objectives.
– Review and update demand plans monthly in line with market dynamics and sales ambitions.
– Implement agreed pricing strategy and drive customer adherence.
– Lead, develop, and manage the performance of the sales team through effective sales management routines, coaching, and development.
– Monitor and report on consumer, customer, and competitor trends.
– Promote and adhere to company procedures, policies, and guidelines, including SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption.

Minimum Specifications / Requirements for Regional Sales Manager
– Full Grade 12 Certificate.
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or equivalent qualification.
– Preferably 7 years’ experience in Sales, preferably in the FMCG sector.
– Sound business acumen and problem-solving skills with strong customer and results focus.
– Ability to communicate, build relationships, influence others, lead and motivate others, plan and organize, and work effectively under pressure.
– Clean and valid driving license.
– Paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM).
– Certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

2. Administrative Assistant x1 – Permanent
This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager – North and will be based in Ndola.

Key Performance Areas
– Ensure timely handling of payments by checking and processing invoices and claims for payment and recording them.
– Compile and keep records of stationery and office consumables procured and used in the department.
– Monitor budgetary allocations against usage and advise sections on consumption, budget, and stock availability.
– Advise on disposal of obsolete materials.
– Ensure administrative services are in place and implemented accordingly.
– Arrange travel, accommodation, meals, and allowances for staff in the department.
– Take minutes at Commercial team meetings.
– Supervise general housekeeping and maintenance of buildings and surroundings.
– Consolidate weekly and monthly departmental reports.
– Attend to staff welfare by liaising and coordinating with departments such as HR, SHERQ, Security, Finance, and IT.
– Coordinate repairs and maintenance at the depot including electricals, plumbing, office furniture, and outdoor surroundings.
– Manage leave plans for the department.
– Liaise with company stores on material orders and monitor requisition movements.
– Promote and adhere to company procedures, policies, and guidelines.

Minimum Specifications / Requirements for Administrative Assistant
– Full Grade 12 Certificate.
– Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or Commerce. A Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.
– Minimum 3 years’ experience in marketing, sales, or supply chain management.
– Computer literate with excellent Microsoft Suite skills.
– Ability to plan, organize, solve problems, pay attention to detail, and work effectively under pressure.
– Strong customer-centric orientation, professionalism, communication skills, and ability to influence internal functions and clients.
– Certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
