About the Role
First Quantum Minerals is looking for a results-driven Cost Accountant to support financial planning, reporting, and cost optimization across mining operations.
This role is critical in driving cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial insights to support operational performance and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
• Managing month-end close processes and financial reporting cycles
• Partnering with operational teams on cost control, budgeting, and forecasting
• Performing variance analysis and providing actionable cost insights
• Preparing and presenting cost reports to support decision-making
• Developing dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Monitoring key cost drivers (fuel, labour, consumables, equipment costs)
• Supporting inventory accounting, accruals, and capital expenditure tracking
• Driving cost-saving initiatives and improving operational efficiency
• Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance (or ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in cost or management accounting
• Mining or heavy industry experience is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills
• Experience with Power BI or BI tools is an added advantage
