Position Overview

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Lusaka.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities within the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipment.
• Supervise electrical maintenance teams and contractors to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults and equipment failures to minimize plant downtime.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrading of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical standards, and company safety policies.
• Prepare maintenance budgets, reports, and performance analyses.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and energy efficiency.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Valid practicing license from the Engineering Registration Board (ERB).
• Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in heavy industry/manufacturing environment, with experience in lime, cement, mining, or processing plants being an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
