Job Description

Climate Control (Z) Ltd is a mechanical contracting company specialized in Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning systems and fire protection systems. The company was incorporated under the company act of the laws of Zambia in 2007.

Climate Control (Z) Ltd is seeking for a MECHANICAL ENGINEER to join our operations at our Lusaka office. The engineer should have the following attributes:

  • Design and Analysis: Develop HVAC system designs, perform load calculations, select appropriate equipment and prepare detailed specifications for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Installation Oversight: Supervise and coordinate HVAC system installations, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, safety standards, and building codes.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and resolve system inefficiencies or mechanical malfunctions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and construction managers to integrate HVAC systems into building designs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, system documentation and compliance records for ongoing operations and audits.
  • Innovation and Sustainability: Implement energy efficient solutions, integrate sustainable technologies and stay updated with the latest HVAC advancements.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and HVAC design principles.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software such as CAD and proprietary manufacturer tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with multi disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Certifications: Professional licenses or certifications such as Engineering Institution of Zambia, (EIZ).
  • Experience: Prior experience in HVAC system design, installation, or maintenance is preferred, with senior roles requiring leadership in project delivery.

These are full-time position and the successful candidates must be available to work weekdays and weekends.
