Stefanutti Stocks Construction (Zambia) Limited, a division of a leading South African multidisciplinary contractor, is inviting applications for the role of Health and Safety Officer. This opportunity is based in Lumwana, Northwestern Province, Zambia, offering a contract position with on-site work. We are looking for skilled professionals to support and enhance our organisational safety, health, environmental, and quality programmes.

About the Health and Safety Officer Role
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a vital role in planning, directing, and implementing safety policies and procedures that comply with Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Your responsibilities will include training employees on site safety practices, fire prevention, and proper handling of chemicals, toxins, and equipment. Additionally, you will conduct analyses of industrial accidents and health hazards to inform company strategies and external reporting.

Key Responsibilities for Health and Safety Officer Jobs in Lumwana
Assist in developing and enforcing organisational safety, health, environmental, and quality programmes.
Implement safety policies and procedures aligned with Occupational Safety and Health standards.
Conduct employee training on worksite safety, fire prevention, and safe handling techniques.
Prepare detailed studies on causes of industrial accidents and health hazards for internal and external use.
Qualifications and Experience
Must be a Zambian citizen.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, with relevant safety training.
A minimum of five years’ experience in construction or mining sectors.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety laws, regulations, and quality standards.
Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards.
Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Registered and paid-up member of the Occupational Health and Safety Institute (OHSI).
