As part of its strategic growth and inclusion agenda, in collaboration with other stakeholders Malu Capital will be introducing Village Banking services and will need the following vacancies to be filled:
1. Job Title: Group Coordinator – Village Banking
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Purpose
To coordinate, support, and supervise Village Banking groups to ensure effective group formation, loan administration and adherence to institutional policies, while promoting financial inclusion and group sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
– Mobilize and register Village Banking groups in assigned communities.
– Train group members on Village Banking principles, loan procedures, savings culture, and group governance.
– Coordinate group meetings, loan disbursements, repayments, and savings collections.
– Monitor group performance, loan utilization, and repayment behavior.
– Maintain accurate group records, attendance registers, and repayment schedules.
– Resolve group conflicts and chair disciplinary or default issues.
– Educate members on financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills.
– Submit timely reports on group activities, portfolio quality, and challenges.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or better in Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies, or related field.
At least 2 years’ experience in microfinance, community development, or group-based lending.

– Basic financial and record-keeping skills.
– Integrity, patience, and ability to work in rural/field conditions.
2. Treasury Administrator – Village Banking
Reports To: Head of Finance
Job Purpose
To manage the day-to-day treasury operations of the Village Banking program, ensuring proper liquidity management and accurate records, and compliance with financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
– Manage cash flows related to loan disbursements, repayments, and group savings.
– Maintain accurate treasury records, cashbooks, and reconciliation statements.
– Monitor liquidity levels and ensure availability of funds for operations.
– Support preparation of financial reports related to Village Banking funds.
– Enforce financial controls and treasury policies.
– Coordinate with banks and mobile money service providers.
– Safeguard funds and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
– Report irregularities or group risks to management.
Qualifications and Experience
– Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or related field.
– At least 1 years’ experience in treasury, accounting, or financial management.
Key Competencies and Skills
– Strong numerical and analytical skills.
– High level of integrity and confidentiality.
– Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
– Attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Job Title: Human Resource Officer
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Purpose
To support the implementation of human resource policies and procedures by managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and staff welfare.
Key Responsibilities
– Coordinate recruitment, selection, and induction of staff.
– Build and promote in-house company culture.
– Maintain employee records and HR databases.
– Support performance management and appraisal processes.
– Administer staff contracts, leave, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
– Ensure compliance with labor laws and institutional HR policies.
– Coordinate staff training and capacity-building activities.
– Handle employee grievances and welfare matters.
– Prepare HR reports and workforce statistics.
Qualifications and Experience
– Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
At least 2–3 years’ experience in an HR role.

4. Job Title: Business Development Officer
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Purpose
To identify, develop, and manage growth opportunities that expand the institution’s Village Banking portfolio, enhance revenue, and strengthen partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
– Identify new markets and growth opportunities for Village Banking services.
– Develop and implement business development strategies and plans.
– Build and maintain relationships with communities, partners, and stakeholders.
– Promote Village Banking products and services via digital avenues.
– Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
– Support product development and innovation initiatives.
– Track and report on business growth performance.
– Represent the institution at marketing and community events.
Qualifications and Experience
– Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
– At least 2 years’ experience in business development, sales, or microfinance.
