OPEN POSITION : HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

Cheryl Gardens is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and result oriented individuals for the position of Human Resource Officer. The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen the Human Resource function, improve compliance, and support the development of effective HR systems, controls, and employee management practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years’ proven work experience in Human Resource Management.
Must be a paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
Good knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
Strong communication, report writing, and organizational skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems in line with labour laws and organizational needs.
Maintain complete, accurate, and up to date employee records and ensure proper filing systems are in place.
Review, update, and maintain job descriptions for all positions in the organization.
Support the development and maintenance of a clear staff establishment and organizational structure.
Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, including shortlisting, interviews, documentation, and onboarding.
Prepare, review, and manage employment contracts and ensure employees understand their terms of employment.
Support payroll administration by ensuring employee information is accurate and aligned to the approved establishment.
Monitor leave records, attendance related documentation, and other employee welfare records.
Coordinate performance management processes, including appraisals, target setting, and performance tracking.
Provide support on disciplinary procedures, employee relations matters, and compliance issues.
Prepare HR reports, statistics, and management updates as required.
Promote professionalism, accountability, confidentiality, and continuous improvement within the HR function.
