Based in Lusaka, Zambia, the Warehouse System & Inventory Controller will serve as the pivotal point for managing inventory data, overseeing warehouse management systems (WMS), and monitoring stock movements. This full-time role demands a proactive approach to sustain accuracy, integrity, and efficiency in all warehouse inventory processes, providing real-time visibility across all product categories.

Key Responsibilities for Warehouse Inventory Controller Jobs in Lusaka

• Inventory Management: Maintain detailed stock records at bin, shelf, and pallet levels across all warehouses.
• Coordinate regular cycle counts, spot checks, and full stock takes, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment requests based on established thresholds.
• Manage inbound and outbound stock transactions, returns, and adjustments accurately within the WMS.
• Ensure strict adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) protocols for applicable product lines.
• Warehouse Systems Administration: Act as the super user and administrator for the Warehouse Management System.
• Maintain master data accuracy including item codes, unit measures, bin locations, product lines, and supplier details.
• Troubleshoot system issues and escalate to IT or vendors as necessary.
• Generate and distribute inventory reports to operations, procurement, and finance teams.
• Support system upgrades, user acceptance testing, and integration of new modules.
• Process Control & Compliance: Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stock and system management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements in all warehouse transactions.
• Collaborate with finance on stock valuation, write-offs, and period-end closing activities.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective measures.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, logistics, and production teams to align inventory data with operational demands.
• Assist inbound receiving teams in verifying goods-received notes and supplier documentation.
• Support the warehouse manager with KPI tracking and operational performance reviews.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Candidate Profile

• Degree holder from a recognized institution, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Economics & Mathematics, or Data Science.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in warehouse inventory, stock control, or logistics coordination.
• Proven expertise with Warehouse Management Systems such as SAP WM/EWM, Oracle WMS, Manhattan, or Infor.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data validation; ERP system experience is advantageous.
• Strong numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Capability to multitask and prioritize competing demands efficiently.
