Underground Drill Rig Operator Jobs in Copperbelt – Role Overview

The Underground Drill Rig Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and precise operation of drill rigs underground. This position demands extensive experience and certifications to maintain the highest standards of safety and productivity.

Key Requirements for Underground Drill Rig Operator

  • At least 8 years of experience in underground drilling operations
  • Valid Drill Rig Operator Certification
  • Possession of a current Blasting Licence
  • Valid Silicosis Certificate

Primary Responsibilities of the Drill Rig Operator

  • Operate underground drill rigs safely and efficiently in compliance with safety protocols
  • Perform thorough pre-start inspections and routine maintenance on equipment
  • Execute drilling activities strictly according to established drilling plans
  • Identify and report any equipment defects or unsafe conditions promptly

Underground Drill Rig Helper Position – Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in underground mining environments
  • Exposure to drilling operations is advantageous
  • Good physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and collaborate effectively within a team

Responsibilities for the Drill Rig Helper

  • Assist Drill Rig Operators during all phases of drilling activities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of drill sites to promote safety
  • Support basic equipment checks and upkeep
