As a Technical Officer, you will assist in carrying out countrywide spectrum monitoring and compliance activities. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining monitoring sites, conducting technical inspections, and supporting spectrum management processes to uphold national and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine repair and maintenance of all spectrum monitoring sites.
- Submit monthly equipment inventories for all monitoring locations.
- Clean portable measuring equipment and client stations daily to ensure operational readiness.
- Compile and submit annual lists of measuring equipment requiring re-calibration.
- Ensure all monitoring sites maintain accurate and up-to-date log books.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on repair and maintenance activities.
- Conduct spectrum monitoring following approved domestic and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) procedures.
- Utilize the Automated Spectrum Monitoring system to perform automatic violation detection and maintain a clean frequency assignment database.
- Conduct physical inspections of radio installations to verify compliance with licence conditions and technical standards.
- Support additional related duties, including spectrum planning and licensing, as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education level: Grade 12.
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
