About the Role: Senior Technical Advisor Jobs in Kalumbila

Reporting directly to the HME Manager, you will provide expert technical leadership and support for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of ultra-class electric and hydraulic shovels. Your focus will be on establishing best-practice maintenance standards, driving equipment performance improvements, and developing team capabilities to ensure optimal shovel fleet reliability.

This role requires a results-driven individual who embodies Barrick’s core values, including integrity, accountability, zero harm commitment, and fostering strong partnerships. You will play a pivotal role in embedding a culture of reliability and continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement structured maintenance strategies and defect elimination processes for ultra-class shovels.
• Establish condition monitoring routines aligned with OEM recommendations and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze performance data to identify chronic issues, failure patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead root cause analysis initiatives and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations and planning teams to optimize maintenance schedules and reduce downtime.
• Champion a reliability-focused culture throughout the maintenance team and site.
• Mentor and coach supervisors and technicians to enhance technical skills and decision-making.
• Deliver hands-on training, troubleshooting support, and competency development programs.
• Support leadership in building a high-performance maintenance team with strong ownership and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in heavy mining equipment maintenance.
• At least 5 to 7 years of specialized experience working with ultra-class shovels.
• Proven track record in developing and leading high-performing maintenance teams.
• A trade certificate with extensive experience on ultra-class equipment is an advantage.
