Zambia Sugar PLC, the leading sugar producer in Zambia and an ABF Sugar Company, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Business Improvement Department based at Nakambala, Mazabuka. The Senior Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of significant capital projects from initial concept through to commissioning. This role demands a strategic leader who ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet all technical specifications while aligning with Zambia Sugar PLC’s business strategy, governance policies, and financial approval processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy, Governance & Business Case Ownership: Maintain the strategic intent of all major projects throughout their lifecycle, document trade-offs and changes, and uphold financial integrity aligned with business plans. Prepare capital approval submissions in accordance with the annual capital cycle and ensure compliance with corporate governance and PMO standards.
• Planning, Execution & Control: Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria. Lead project managers when required. Develop and manage detailed project plans, milestones, and budgets. Monitor progress, resolve constraints, and control cash flow and scope changes effectively.
• Commercial, Contract & Stakeholder Management: Lead contract negotiation, execution, and performance management to meet service level agreements and company standards. Manage procurement processes and oversee contractors, consultants, and service providers. Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
• Risk, Quality, Safety & Compliance: Identify and manage risks to minimize impact on cost, schedule, safety, and quality. Implement quality management systems to meet stakeholder requirements. Provide visible health and safety leadership and ensure compliance with all regulatory, engineering, and corporate standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
• Proven experience managing end-to-end projects exceeding 50 million Kwacha.
• Professional Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
• Preferably 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial project management, including medium to large capital projects.
• Strong PMO experience with expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks.
• Applicants must provide certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA), if applicable.
