The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) is seeking a dedicated Provincial Supply Chain Coordinator to join its Controlling HIV Epidemic Program (CHEP) in the Copperbelt region, specifically in Ndola and Kitwe. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting the Ministry of Health’s efforts to sustainably control the HIV epidemic by strengthening supply chain systems for HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and related health services.

About the Role: Provincial Supply Chain Coordinator Jobs in Ndola Kitwe

Reporting to the Provincial Team Lead Mentor, the successful candidate will provide technical oversight, coordination, and monitoring of supply chain activities for the diagnosis and treatment of HIV, advanced HIV disease (AHD), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and TB within the province. This role involves capacity building and systems strengthening of pharmaceutical and supply chain services in collaboration with District and Provincial Health Offices (DHOs/PHOs), Ministry of Health supply chain staff, implementing partners, and other stakeholders.

The Provincial Supply Chain Coordinator will ensure uninterrupted availability of antiretroviral therapy (ART), TB, and prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) drugs, as well as other essential medical supplies, by overseeing logistics, commodity management, eLMIS reporting, pharmacovigilance, and quality assurance across CHEP-supported sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate with DHOs, PHOs, ZAMRA, and partners to maintain continuous supply of ART, TB, PMTCT drugs, and medical commodities at district and facility levels.
  • Monitor storage conditions and ensure adherence to national guidelines for pharmaceutical care and commodity security.
  • Support and coordinate commodity audits, ensuring accurate stock control and temperature monitoring documentation.
  • Conduct facility mentorships, orientations, and trainings on national guidelines and supply chain standard operating procedures to improve service delivery.
  • Provide technical assistance in electronic logistics management information system (eLMIS) reporting, ordering, and documentation for ARVs, HIV test kits, and laboratory commodities.
  • Implement and oversee pharmacy monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, producing consolidated monthly reports.
  • Strengthen commodity dashboard monitoring and coordinate redistribution efforts within the province.
  • Participate in national Ministry of Health and partner supply chain meetings to address challenges and identify gaps.
  • Support district and facility-level data review meetings to track supply chain performance.
  • Engage in national annual forecasting and quantification meetings for ARVs and laboratory commodities.
  • Collaborate with ZAMRA to enhance pharmacovigilance activities and adverse drug reaction reporting across supported districts and facilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in ART/TB logistics and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Health’s national logistics and supply chain systems.
  • Proven expertise in HIV supply chain management, including eLMIS reporting and storage of HIV/TB drugs, HIV test kits, and lab commodities.
  • Experience in conducting supply chain trainings, pharmacovigilance, capacity building, and mentorship programs.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills, including excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and internet/email usage.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) or an equivalent regulatory body.
