Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Plant Operator – Crushing, you will be responsible for operating the crushing plant efficiently to minimize production losses and maximize yield. You will work closely with the Shift Leader and Production Manager to maintain optimal process settings and ensure equipment performs within prescribed parameters. Key duties include:

• Monitoring process equipment and operating parameters continuously to guarantee product quality.
• Handling material feed procedures, including accurate tank and vessel dip measurements and reporting.
• Controlling seed feed temperature from the Vertical Seed Conditioner (VSC) to the flakers according to operational standards.
• Conducting routine inspections of equipment at intervals not exceeding two hours and reporting abnormalities promptly.
• Completing production log sheets accurately and on schedule.
• Participating in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and reliability.
• Maintaining strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and housekeeping to ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
• Promoting a strong safety culture by adhering to safety procedures and contributing to safety improvements.
• Reporting operational issues, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and quality concerns to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications and Skills for Plant Operator Crushing Jobs in Ndola

Candidates should possess a Diploma or Certificate in Engineering or a related field, with a preference for graduates in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering to support technical understanding. Essential skills and competencies include:
