Role Overview for Mechanical Coordinator Jobs in Ndola

As the Mechanical Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical maintenance and repair tasks on equipment including the Stockpile area machinery, grizzly, jaw crusher, conveyors, washing plant, secondary and tertiary crushers, Spiral plant, and mill bins. Your expertise will ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime in these vital areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis for major equipment failures to identify and resolve underlying issues.
• Schedule and assign work orders or defect dockets to Artisans for all mechanical tasks.
• Maintain minimum spare parts inventory according to the mini/maxi stock plan and alert management to any critical shortages.
• Provide daily progress reports on maintenance activities and completed work.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies to maintain a safe workplace.
• Adhere strictly to all safety procedures to prevent workplace injuries and hazards.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Mechanical Technician Certificate or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in mining or a related mechanical field.
• Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is required.
• Valid Silicosis Certificate.
