About the Role

As a Mechanical Artisan at AB InBev Africa, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our equipment remains in optimal condition to support reliable production. You will perform thorough inspections, execute corrective maintenance, and apply problem-solving techniques to address root causes of equipment failures. Additionally, you will coach operators on proper equipment handling and autonomous operations, contributing to a culture of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities for Mechanical Artisan Jobs in Lusaka

  • Operational Support: Provide hands-on support to shift teams, attend packaging meetings, and assist with troubleshooting and fault finding.
  • Planned Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks, assist colleagues, prepare jobs, and ensure timely completion of repairs and upkeep.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and routine repairs following maintenance schedules and problem-solving protocols.
  • Running Repairs: Conduct urgent repairs on plant and equipment, assess issues, and coordinate with planners when further work is required.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively within teams, contribute to development, and complete work orders efficiently.
  • Problem Solving: Apply structured methodologies to resolve issues and coach operators on situational problem solving.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Adhere strictly to safety procedures, maintain housekeeping standards, conduct inspections, and ensure proper use of PPE and tools.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Technology or Mechanical Fitting.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in utilities or packaging maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of utilities processes, production technologies, and maintenance systems such as COSWIN.
  • Proactive mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving and decision-making techniques effectively.
