About the IT Technician Role
As an IT Technician at Right to Care Zambia, you will provide essential technical support, manage IT services, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure seamless IT operations. Your responsibilities will include hardware and software troubleshooting, user account administration, network security monitoring, and IT asset management. You will also support end-users with business applications and ensure all IT equipment is maintained and up to date.
Key Responsibilities for IT Technician Jobs in Mansa
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on IT equipment and recommend disposal of obsolete devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access on Active Directory and Office 365.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues within defined service level agreements, escalating when necessary.
- Monitor network usage and security, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Maintain print servers, scan-to-email functionality, and electronic file management systems.
- Track and manage IT assets, including inventory control, warranty, and disposal processes.
- Conduct daily health checks of IT systems and report findings to Group IT.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates applying for it technician jobs in Mansa must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate.
- Paid-up membership with ICTAZ.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT operations or a related role.

Desirable qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified IT Professional.
- A minimum of 4 years proven experience as an IT Technician or similar position.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth understanding of computer systems, networks, internet security, and data privacy principles.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
- Excellent technical support and troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Effective IT service delivery and end-user support management.
- Proficiency in user account administration and access management.
- Competence in network infrastructure support, configuration, and administration.
- Knowledge of ICT systems maintenance, performance monitoring, and compliance support.
- Strong organizational skills for IT asset tracking and lifecycle management.
