Role Overview: IT Security Officer Jobs in Lusaka
Based at our Lusaka Head Office, the Information Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding Hobbiton’s digital infrastructure and financial platforms. This role suits a cybersecurity professional with fintech or regulated industry experience who excels at risk mitigation, incident response, and regulatory compliance. Candidates residing in Lusaka or willing to relocate are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Monitoring and Protection: Continuously monitor IT systems, networks, and payment platforms; manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection; detect and mitigate malware, ransomware, phishing, and unauthorized access.
- Financial Systems Security: Secure payment systems, APIs, and transaction flows; ensure transaction integrity and support fraud detection mechanisms.
- Incident Management: Lead investigations and resolution of security incidents; conduct root cause analysis and maintain incident response plans.
- Vulnerability Management: Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; track remediation and enforce security best practices.
- Access Control: Manage authentication systems including MFA; enforce least-privilege access and conduct periodic audits.
- Data Protection: Implement controls for sensitive data; ensure encryption and support secure data handling.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to BOZ guidelines, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and data protection laws; prepare for audits.
- Third-Party Risk Management: Assess vendors and partners for security compliance and mitigate integration risks.
- Business Continuity: Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning to ensure system resilience and rapid recovery.
- Reporting and Training: Prepare cybersecurity reports and documentation; lead awareness programs on fraud risks and secure practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade Twelve Certificate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are required.
- Minimum five years’ experience in Information Security, Risk Management, or IT within fintech or regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, fintech systems, and risk management methodologies.
- Proficiency with security technologies including SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Understanding of payment systems, APIs, and transaction security.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS and ISO 27001.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and ability to perform under pressure during incidents.
