The Zambia Institute of Mass Communication (ZAMCOM) was established under the ZAMCOM Act of Parliament of 1996 to provide Communications and Media training and production services.
ZAMCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position;
GRAPHIC DESIGN & PRINT OFFICER
Reporting to Commercial Manager
Job Purpose
To be responsible for developing visually compelling designs that effectively communicate our clients’ messages. The successful candidate will focus on producing high-quality materials for a business Centre, including brochures, banners, posters, and a wide range of print and digital media. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for training and mentoring individuals in graphic design.
Key Responsibilities
Design and produce brochures, banners, flyers, business cards, and other print media
Develop creative concepts and layouts aligned with client requirements
Prepare artwork for printing and ensure quality control of final outputs
Manage multiple design projects while meeting deadlines
Maintain brand consistency across all materials
Operate and coordinate with printing equipment and processes
Teach and train students/clients in graphic design principles and software
Stay up to date with design trends, tools, and technologies
Qualifications
Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
Diploma in Graphic Design or related field
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field shall be an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills Required
Strong proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Skills in 3D design and animation are an added advantage
Excellent creativity with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
Strong layout, typography, and color theory skills
Ability to conceptualize and execute design ideas effectively
Good understanding of printing processes and materials
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong command of the English language
Ability to teach, mentor, and transfer design knowledge effectively
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
A strong portfolio showcasing previous design work
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Professional attitude and willingness to learn
