District Coordinator Jobs in Kazungula with DAPP in Zambia Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is a nationally registered NGO implementing impactful development projects across Zambia in education, health, agriculture, and poverty alleviation. We are currently inviting applications for the position of District Coordinator to join our Transformative Emergency Response Nutrition Improvement in Zambia (TERNIZA) project based in Kazungula. This role focuses on strengthening resilience among vulnerable smallholder farmers, particularly women and youth, by enhancing agricultural productivity and nutrition outcomes. About the District Coordinator Role in Kazungula The District Coordinator will oversee all operational aspects of drought recovery programs aligned with project objectives and implementation strategies. This includes providing technical support to farmers, coordinating with district teams, and ensuring activities meet quality, timeliness, and impact targets. The role also involves capacity building for smallholder farmers to diversify production and improve livelihoods, advancing financial literacy and inclusion, and promoting access to nutritious foods through market linkages and agro-processing. Key Responsibilities for District Coordinator Jobs in Kazungula Manage daily operations of drought recovery initiatives following approved work plans and program documents. Troubleshoot operational challenges to minimize disruptions in program delivery. Provide technical guidance and support to enrolled smallholder farmers ensuring program goals are achieved. Collaborate with district teams to monitor, evaluate, and report on program effectiveness and impact, recommending improvements as needed. Enhance skills and capacities of women and youth farmers through targeted training and extension services. Promote livelihoods restoration, financial literacy, and inclusion by linking farmers to affordable financing and digital tools. Improve access to safe, nutritious foods through market access, value addition, and nutrition education. Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to maintain high-quality data collection and reporting standards. Manage project budgets and financial expenditures within DAPP regulations to ensure value for money. Coordinate with government line ministries, partners, and local leadership to foster collaboration and support for project activities. Qualifications and Experience Required Diploma in Agronomy, General Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Extension, or related fields; a degree in General Agriculture is an advantage. Minimum of five years’ professional and leadership experience in NGOs working with agricultural extension, microfinancing, nutrition, or agrochemical sectors. Proven leadership in managing similar development projects. Strong understanding of smallholder farmer challenges and nutrition issues. Knowledge and experience in Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices and climate services. Excellent interpersonal skills, team collaboration, and facilitation abilities.
