Role Overview for Business Developer Jobs in Lusaka
Reporting directly to the Industry Lead Zambia, the Business Developer will support business growth initiatives, client relationship management, and ensure smooth daily operations within the team. The position requires adherence to the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, Code of Ethics, and Group policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Business Unit with business development activities to drive growth.
- Support market development initiatives targeting Chinese companies operating in Zambia.
- Manage client liaison and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Comply with environmental policies by responsibly disposing of waste and conserving natural resources.
- Adhere to safety regulations, report incidents promptly, and participate in emergency drills.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and apply all relevant safety rules consistently.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Chinese Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Excellent computer literacy and interpersonal skills.
- Highly ethical and professional conduct.
- Ability to initiate and sustain activities independently.
- Experience working internationally or in multicultural environments is an advantage.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Environmental and Safety Commitment
The role requires strict compliance with all environmental and occupational health and safety regulations applicable in Zambia. The Business Developer will actively participate in maintaining a safe workplace by reporting incidents, engaging in training, and following established procedures to protect themselves and colleagues.
