About the Brewing & Utilities Engineer Role

As a Brewing & Utilities Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a vital role in optimizing our production processes and maintaining our plant’s operational excellence. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Lusaka, designed for a professional passionate about engineering in the brewing industry.

Key Responsibilities for Brewing and Utilities Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

• Technical & Process Optimization: Provide expert technical support and analysis to production teams, enhance plant availability and output, optimize utility consumption, and support waste reduction initiatives.
• Maintenance & Asset Management: Oversee the integrity and effective use of planned maintenance systems, manage maintenance schedules, resolve system issues, maintain asset care processes with CMMS accuracy, and control maintenance costs and spare parts usage.
• Production Performance: Drive plant reliability, efficiency, and product quality by monitoring brewing system performance and key process indicators, while minimizing wastage and improving operational efficiency.
• Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, maintain exemplary housekeeping and safe maintenance practices, and proactively identify and address unsafe conditions.
• People Management & Leadership: Coach and mentor shift teams, support employee development in asset care, PLC, and maintenance skills, and foster effective communication and a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
• Certification: Registered Engineer status is mandatory. A Diploma in Brewing (IBD) is an advantage.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years in roles such as Team Leader, Maintenance Planner, or Controller, preferably within FMCG or brewing environments.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with maintenance systems and brewing technologies is essential.
