Role Overview: Artisan Rigger Jobs in Kalumbila
The Artisan Rigger will perform workshop and rigging functions, supporting maintenance and breakdown services at the Sentinel mine site. This role is essential in ensuring safe and efficient lifting operations while contributing to cost savings and operational synergies. You will work closely with the RTWS and open pit teams to uphold safety, cost, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist crane operators with lifting and moving loads safely, preventing damage to materials.
- Manage materials movement and take responsibility during lifting operations.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and statutory inspections on rigging gear, mobile and overhead cranes, winch ropes, and related equipment.
- Support load testing and compliance checks for cranes and lifting equipment.
- Estimate load tonnages to ensure the correct crane capacities and equipment selection.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities, particularly for Zambian employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Up-to-date knowledge and compliance with SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards.
- Familiarity with safety equipment and rigging tools.
- Ability to assess loads and select appropriate equipment.
- Experience with crane setup, assembly, and disassembly.
- Strong mathematical skills for load calculations.
- Physical capability to work in demanding conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Good English communication skills, both written and oral.

Qualifications and Experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience working with cranes or heavy lifting equipment.

- Minimum of a high school certificate or equivalent.
- Computer literate with a Craft Certificate in Rigging or Trade Test Certificate Level.
- Full Grade 12 certificate.
