Job description

Zambia Sugar PLC invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Finance Officer – Treasury in the Finance Department, based at Nakambala.

Position: Finance Officer – Treasury x1 (Re-advertised)
Reports to: Treasury Analyst

Role Summary
The successful candidate will support the Treasury Analyst in managing treasury liquidity, including daily funding requirements, interest rate exposure, foreign exchange exposure and day-to-day treasury activities.

Key Responsibilities
– Provide daily liquidity reviews and advise on competitive facilities to utilise, including fund transfers between banks.
– Perform bank reconciliations and follow up reconciling items before close of the following financial period.
– Perform control account reconciliations for loan, dividend and hedging control accounts.
– Analyse bank transactions and work with the Treasury Analyst on monthly cash flow forecasts.
– Analyse bank overdraft utilization and prepare monthly interest accrual schedules.
– Record, capture and generate receipts for sales revenue from mobile money applications, molasses sales, sundry income and unidentified cash deposits/receipts not processed by Receivables.
– Ensure completeness of bank deposits by following up payments on cash clearing and one-time customer accounts.
– Support dividend payments as required.
– Review banking platform access rights and ensure correct access for users.
– Upload 14 bank statements for bank accounts not currently interfaced with SAP and supported by MT940 formatting.

Minimum Requirements
– Grade 12 Certificate.
– Degree in Accounting or Intermediate level in ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or a related field.
– Preferably 3-5 years relevant working experience.
– Treasury background will be an added advantage.
– Excel proficiency is required.
– Must be a member of ZICA.
– Certificates must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
