Job description

Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is inviting applications for the position of Mechanic, Salary Grade ZRA08 (3 positions), Human Resource Function.

Purpose
Reporting to the Head Mechanic, the job holder will maintain the ZRA fleet by providing cost-effective guidance in maintenance processes and ensuring vehicles meet required performance standards.

Key Duties
– Diagnose faults on defective motor vehicles.
– Repair motor vehicles when required at local and outstation locations.
– Ensure contracted garages carry out assigned work instructions.
– Carry out pre- and post-inspections on motor vehicles.
– Collect motor vehicle repair estimates and quotations.
– Recover broken-down vehicles from ZRA stations.
– Provide fleet maintenance and repair reports.
– Carry out other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements
– Grade 12 School Certificate or GCE equivalent.
– Craft Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or Motor Vehicle Technician Certificate Level 2 from a recognised trades training institute or college.
– Knowledge of both diesel and petrol engines.
– Three years relevant post-qualifying work experience.
– Minimum Class C SADC driver’s licence.
