HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER – WONDERFUL GROUP OF COMPANIES LIMITED

Wonderful Group of Companies Limited is a leading manufacturing conglomerate with diverse operations in fertilizer production, porcelain tile manufacturing and industrial packaging materials. The company is seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Officer (senior level) to manage the full spectrum of human resources activities at its manufacturing plant.

The role requires a strategic yet operational HR leader who drives in a fast-paced industrial setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with Zambian labour laws and driving workforce efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
– Handle daily HR operations for a workforce of factory staff, including recruitment, onboarding, attendance management and off boarding.
– Manage employee relations, disciplinary hearings, grievance procedures and conflict resolution in line with Zambian labour legislation.
– Coordinate and facilitate training and development programs to enhance worker skills and safety awareness.
– Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including Workers’ Compensation, NAPSA and NHIMA, and maintain accurate employee records.
– Implement and monitor HR policies, procedures and performance management systems.
– Support the plant management team in workforce planning, succession planning and headcount control.
– Prepare payroll inputs, administer leave schedules and manage employee benefits administration.
– Foster a positive workplace culture and drive employee engagement initiatives.
– Solve HR-related issues and coordinate with departments.
– Perform other tasks assigned by the Department Leader.

Qualifications and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing, factory or industrial environment.
– Strong working knowledge of Zambian labour laws, employment regulations and statutory bodies such as NAPSA and NHIMA.
– Proven experience in managing employee relations, recruiting blue-collar staff and handling high-volume HR administration.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and respond effectively to operational demands.
– Full membership of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is an added advantage.
– Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
