WE ARE HIRING – GENERAL MANAGER (FREIGHT & FORWARDING) | ZAMBIA

Our client, a Freight and Forwarding company in Zambia, is seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and hands-on General Manager to lead and oversee full business operations.

This is a senior role for an all-rounder with strong expertise in logistics, clearing, and commercial management.

Key Responsibilities

? Strategic and Business Growth
~Develop and execute business strategy for growth and
profitability
~Drive new business opportunities and revenue growth
~Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulators

? Operations (Freight and Logistics)
~Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding and customs clearing
~Manage transport, warehousing, and cargo movement
~Resolve operational delays, demurrage, and clearance issues
~Ensure coordination between clients, customs, and transporters

? Compliance and Governance
~Ensure compliance with Zambian customs, labour, and transport
laws
~Oversee ZRA, RTSA, and statutory requirements
~Maintain strong governance and zero tolerance to unethical
conduct

? Financial, Payroll and Statutory Management
~Manage budgets, cash flow, and cost control
~Oversee invoicing, debtors, and payroll
~Ensure statutory compliance and financial reporting

? Business Development and HR
~Grow key accounts and manage client relationships
~Lead teams, oversee recruitment, and drive performance culture
~Ensure HR compliance and staff development

Requirements
~Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
~5–8 years’ experience in Freight/Logistics operations
~2–4 years in a senior management role
~Knowledge of ZRA, ASYCUDA World, and Zambian logistics
frameworks
~Experience in logistics sector is an added advantage
