Truck Drivers Jobs in Zambia Remote – Role Overview
The truck driver role reports directly to the Fleet Manager and involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport goods safely and punctually over local and long-distance routes. The position requires strict adherence to safety regulations, effective communication with dispatch and clients, and routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport cargo safely across designated routes.
Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods to clients or specified destinations.
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any faults promptly.
Adhere strictly to all Zambian road traffic laws and safety regulations.
Properly secure cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, fuel usage records, and other relevant documentation.
Follow established procedures when handling and transporting dangerous goods.
Communicate clearly and professionally with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients.
Ensure cleanliness and perform basic maintenance of assigned vehicles.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Valid Driver’s License (CE class or equivalent for heavy-duty trucks).
Certificate in Defensive Driving.
Silicosis Certificate.
Certification in Dangerous Goods Handling.
Police Clearance Certificate confirming no criminal record.
Minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional truck driving experience.
Valid passport to facilitate cross-border travel.
Fluent communication skills in English.
Essential Competencies for Truck Drivers Jobs in Zambia Remote
Comprehensive knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
Strong time management skills and reliability.
Exceptional attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
Capability to undertake long-distance travel, including cross-border routes.
Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
Adaptability to varying weather and road conditions.
