Reports to: Transport and Logistics Manager

Job Purpose

The Transport and Logistics Intern will work under the supervision of the assists the Transport and Logistics Manager. Assist with general administrative support to the Transport and Logistics Manager and occasionally leads field-based activities. Assist with stock management, performance monitoring, and daily uplifts to ensure efficient supply chain operations. Assist in preparing reports, analyze data for decision-making and ensure prompt supplier payments, and work with teams to maintain optimal supply levels and prevent stockouts. Check purchase requests to ensure that goods, services or works are technically specified and obtain clarifications if necessary.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Help the Transport and Logistics Manager to review and update training materials and compliance documentation to ensure relevance and accuracy
Assist the Transport and Logistics Manager with land use permits and reporting.
Coordinate and/or facilitate all aspects of logistics for group visits including but not limited to: transportation arrangements, lodging arrangements, meal arrangements, evening activities, overnight supervision, staff/intern communications and group hospitality.
Assist the Transport and Logistics Manager with visiting trip leader request and adjustments
Contribute to maintaining oversight on the quality of content, ensuring it aligns with organizational standards
Assure clients are receiving the best experience and service possible.
Follow organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Provide administrative support as needed and support for the Transport and Logistics Manager

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

Degree Transport and Logistics or Supply Chain Management
Must have a minimum of 3+ years’ work experience in Transport and Logistics or Fleet and Stock Management
Transport and Logistics working experience with transportation or engineering company will be a plus
Must be organized, motivated, and able to perform well in fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to quickly learn to use new software.
Must be ready to travel at short notice
Must be a member of CILT
