Technology Manager

Job description

We are seeking a self-driven and results orientated Technology Manager to lead the continuous development of new tech solutions, deployment and support of Mwabu’s current and future technology portfolio. You will be required to manage cloud infrastructure, data systems, offline-first learning solutions and digital transformation initiatives. This full-time role combines software engineering, systems architecture, data analytics and management, technical project management and stakeholder engagement. You will be required to work from Mwabu’s offices in State Lodge and must be willing to travel to project sites, sometimes for multiple days.

Key Responsibilities

·      Manage mobile and hardware deployments and offline-first applications for education and enterprise.

·      Co-lead project deployments from architecture, development, testing to maintenance.

·      Architect Linux server and cloud infrastructure with monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.

·      Manage databases (MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB) including optimization, ETL and automation for remote data retrieval.

·      Develop Power BI dashboards, reporting pipelines and analytics solutions.

·      Ensure cybersecurity, data protection compliance and secure software development practices.

·      Provide technical leadership, mentorship and coordinate external vendors.

·      Support rural and low-connectivity deployments including synchronization and offline content delivery.

·      Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams and implementation plans.

·      Manage internal company IT systems, including supporting colleagues.
