Barrick Lumwana Mining Corporation is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the role of Technical Officer – Supply Chain at our Kalumbila site in the North West Province of Zambia. About the Role – Technical Officer Supply Chain Jobs Kalumbila

Reporting to the Superintendent – Demand & Supply, you will play a pivotal role in supporting procurement and supply chain integrity across the mine site. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring that technical requirements are clear, standardized, and aligned with operational needs. Additionally, you will contribute to strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and the enhancement of data quality.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with end users to develop, review, and refine Scopes of Work (SOW), ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.
Identify repetitive and high-volume service requirements to support strategic sourcing and contract consolidation initiatives.
Work closely with Commercial Officers to conduct market research and provide technical input for supplier identification, evaluation, and selection.
Provide technical assistance to the Supply Chain inventory team in cleansing, standardizing, and optimizing master data.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the supplier performance appraisal system, including developing technical evaluation criteria.
Serve as a liaison between end users and Supply Chain during cataloguing to ensure accurate classification and specification of materials and services.
Drive standardization of technical specifications to reduce duplication and improve supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience

Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or engineering role within mining or heavy industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools such as SQL, Power BI, or similar.
Comprehensive technical understanding of mining operations, equipment, and services.
Experience drafting or reviewing technical Scopes of Work and specifications.
Familiarity with inventory management and master data systems, including ERP platforms.
Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Attention to detail and effective communication skills to translate technical requirements into commercial documentation.
