Software Developer Internship Program – Book Now Zambia

About Us
Book Now Zambia Ltd is a subsidiary of Dot Com Zambia, an award-winning Zambian ICT company founded in 2009. We design, build, and operate high-volume transaction systems, including tolling platforms, fuel management solutions, and digital payment technologies. Our products process millions of transactions every month, serving both the public and private sectors.

Every year, we run our Internship Development Program. This is a structured 6–12 month opportunity designed to provide aspiring developers with real-world, hands-on experience. Participants work under the guidance of both senior and junior developers, contributing to live projects while building technical and professional skills.

For top-performing participants, there is a strong pathway into a permanent role, we guarantee that at least one or two of the best in each cohort will be offered a Junior Developer position at the end of the program.

The Role
You will work under the guidance of senior and junior developers, supporting them with the following:

Coding, testing, and deploying applications.
Participating in API development and integration work.
Supporting QA (Quality Assurance) and testing processes extensively.
Maintaining and updating existing systems.
Contributing to mobile application development for iOS, Android, or cross-platform frameworks.
Documenting technical requirements, designs, and workflows.
Collaborating in brainstorming sessions to enhance functionality and user experience.

Technical Skills We Value
We encourage applications from individuals with exposure to, or interest in learning, the following:

Frontend: React, Bootstrap, Figma.
Backend: PHP (Laravel, bare-bone) – Required; Java (Spring Boot); JavaScript (Node.js); Python (Django).
APIs: REST, GraphQL.
Databases: MySQL, MongoDB.
Mobile: Native iOS and Android, React Native.
Version Control: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
Cloud: AWS.

What We Are Looking For

Recent graduates in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
Exceptional final-year students may be considered if they can commit to a minimum of six months full-time.
Less than one year of professional software development experience.
Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Stipend and Requirements

Monthly stipend: ZMW 2,500.
Duration: 6–12 months.
Participants must have their own laptop to join the program.
