Job description
Job Post – Site Engineer
Reports To: Project Manager
Location: Lusaka
Duration: 4 Months Contract
Job Purpose
The Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and overseeing building construction and renovation works to ensure that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and attention to detail in managing on-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage day-to-day site operations and construction activities.
Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Prepare and monitor work schedules, materials, and manpower requirements.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Track project progress, report on site activities, and assist in preparing project documentation.
Identify technical issues and propose practical solutions.
Promote teamwork and ensure efficient use of resources on site.
Qualifications and Experience
B.Sc. or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized college or university.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in building construction or renovation works for B.Sc. holders.
Minimum 4 years’ experience for Diploma holders in similar projects.
Knowledge of project management tools and construction safety standards is an added advantage.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
