JOB OPPORTUNITY: SHRINK WRAP MACHINE OPERATOR
Company: Lwitikila Bottling Company
Location: Mpika District Muchinga Province
Reporting to: Production & Maintenance Superintendent
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for a focused and reliable Shrink Wrap Machine Operator to join our production team. You will be responsible for operating the machinery that bundles and seals our finished water bottles into packs, ensuring they are securely wrapped and ready for palletizing and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup: Load shrink film rolls onto the machine and ensure the heat tunnel is at the correct temperature for a perfect seal.
Continuous Operation: Monitor the flow of bottles from the packer to the wrapper to prevent jams or “downed” bottles.
Quality Assurance: Ensure every pack is tight, properly sealed, and that the branding/labels are visible and not distorted by the heat.
Troubleshooting: Perform quick adjustments to film tension or tunnel speed to compensate for changes in ambient temperature or film thickness.
Safety & Hygiene: Ensure the discharge area is clear and maintain a clean workspace in line with food safety standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Grade 12 Certificate; a technical certificate (General Business or Mechanical) is an added advantage.
Experience: 2–3 years of experience operating packaging machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Skills: * Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with film roll changes and minor adjustments.
Physical stamina to manage the pace of a continuous production line.
Reliability: Must be able to work shifts and maintain high energy levels during production peaks.
