About the Senior Trailer Mechanic Role in Ndola

As a Senior Trailer Mechanic at DEOL LIMITED, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our trailer fleet. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and maintaining trailers to meet rigorous company and road safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns on heavy-duty trailers
• Conduct preventive maintenance and thorough inspections of trailer systems
• Repair suspension, braking, air systems, axles, and electrical wiring
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required
• Ensure all trailers comply with road safety regulations and company policies
• Supervise and mentor junior mechanics, providing technical guidance
• Maintain detailed and accurate service and repair records
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdown situations

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience working on heavy-duty trailers
• Strong knowledge of trailer air brake systems, suspension, and hydraulics
• Trade certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Equipment Repair
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership abilities
• Valid driver’s license; Class CE license is an added advantage
