Job description

Thorntree River Lodge, a safari destination nestled on the river banks of mighty Zambezi river in the Mosi-Oa Tunya National Park, is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to come on board and join our dynamic team in the capacity Senior Safari Guide. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in one of Africa’s most pristine and remote wilderness areas, delivering unforgettable experiences to our local international guests.

Position : Safari Guide

Reporting to : Assistant Camp Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead guided game drives, walking safaris, and other nature-based activities.
  • Provide guests with a safe, informative, and enriching wildlife experience.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecology.
  • Represent the lodge’s values in guest interactions and contribute to a high-end hospitality experience.
  • Provide expert Knowledge on animal behaviour, tracking, and conservation efforts.
  • Collaborate with the camp team to ensure an outstanding guest experience.
  • Adhere to all park regulations and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and wildlife.
  • Assist with conservation as required
  • Host and engage with guests in camp.

Requirements:

  • Valid professional guiding license recognized by TEVETA
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional guiding experience in a safari environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for wildlife and conservation.
  • Physically fit and capable of conducting walking safaris.
