Position Overview: Senior Project Manager
As a Senior Project Manager at Zambia Sugar Plc, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of significant capital projects—from initial concept through to successful commissioning. Your leadership will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and internal teams, to drive project success and uphold compliance with engineering, safety, and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Project Manager Jobs in Nakambala Mazabuka
- Lead the planning and execution of major capital projects, ensuring delivery from concept to commissioning.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and milestones.
- Manage project governance, procurement processes, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers supporting project delivery.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and corporate policies throughout projects.
- Monitor project progress and provide transparent communication regarding risks, challenges, and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related discipline).
- Professional Project Management certification such as PMP or an equivalent credential.
- Proven track record managing projects with budgets exceeding K50 million.
- Preferably a minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial project management.
- Strong knowledge of PMO systems, project methodologies, and governance frameworks.
- ZAQA verification of qualifications where applicable.
