Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Procurement Officer will support the Procurement Manager in managing the entire procurement lifecycle, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and adherence to the Public Procurement Act and related guidelines prescribed by the Zambia Public Procurement Authority. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with bidder selection, public bid openings, bid evaluations, and preparing reports for contract awards.
• Drafting solicitation and tender documents for goods and general services procurement.
• Coordinating procurement plans, reviews, and reporting on maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensuring enquiries protect the Authority’s interests and that suppliers submit required subcontracting and financial reports.
• Closing out completed contracts promptly and participating in projects to enhance Procurement Unit effectiveness.
• Engaging regularly with user departments to stay informed of their procurement needs.
• Identifying and resolving procurement challenges proactively.
• Supervising Procurement Officers to maintain high performance and ethical standards.
• Organizing meetings for tender openings, evaluations, and awards.

Qualifications and Experience Required for Senior Procurement Officer Jobs in Lusaka

• Education: Grade 12 certificate is required.
• Professional Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management is essential.
