BIA Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Human Resource Officer to join our team in Zambia. Key Responsibilities for Senior Human Resource Officer Jobs in Zambia

  • HR Budget and Workforce Planning: Collaborate with the HR Manager and Finance team to support the annual HR budget process. Develop workforce planning schedules aligned with operational needs and budget constraints, translating plans into costed headcount requirements. Monitor HR-related costs and provide monthly reports on cost analysis and workforce trends.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in the development, review, and updating of HR policies ensuring alignment with labour legislation and organizational requirements. Facilitate policy communication and monitor their application, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Disciplinary and Employee Relations: Represent HR in disciplinary hearings to ensure procedural fairness and compliance with labour laws and company policies. Support line management during disciplinary processes and maintain accurate documentation. Manage Joint Committee meetings and act as the primary HR contact for union matters, supporting consultations and ensuring compliance with collective agreements. Address grievances and employee relations issues promptly and fairly, escalating complex cases to the HR Manager.
  • Medical Aid and Employee Wellbeing: Administer medical aid schemes and employee healthcare benefits, managing enrolments and provider relationships. Monitor absenteeism and health trends, and implement wellbeing initiatives. Serve as the first point of contact for employee welfare and support.
  • HR Operations and Compliance: Maintain accurate employee records and ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures. Support day-to-day HR operations and ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal policies. Assist with audits and maintain proper HR documentation and controls.

Candidate Profile

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of HR experience, particularly in employee relations, disciplinary processes, HR budgeting, workforce planning, medical aid administration, and policy development.
  • Strong understanding of labour legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
