Key Responsibilities for Senior HR Officer Jobs in Lumwana
- Employee and Labour Relations: Manage grievances, disciplinary processes, disputes, and investigations while providing expert advice on labour legislation and policies. Represent the company in labour matters and maintain positive employer-employee relationships through conflict resolution and risk mitigation.
- Recruitment and Talent Management: Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding to ensure timely placement of qualified candidates. Support management in identifying and developing high-potential employees and implement talent retention strategies.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure full adherence to Zambian labour laws and maintain updated HR policies, employee records, and statutory reporting. Facilitate audits and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Employee Engagement and Culture: Drive engagement programs, promote company values, conduct employee surveys, and foster open communication between employees and management.
- HR Reporting and Administration: Prepare monthly HR reports and workforce analytics, monitor key metrics such as turnover and absenteeism, and provide data-driven recommendations to management.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Labour Relations, or a related discipline.
- Between 4 to 6 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior HR role.
- Experience in mining, construction, or highly unionised environments is advantageous.
- Proven track record managing employee relations and labour disputes.
- Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is required.
