Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Lusaka.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities within the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipment.
- Supervise electrical maintenance teams and contractors to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults and equipment failures to minimize plant downtime.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrading of electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical standards, and company safety policies.
- Prepare maintenance budgets, reports, and performance analyses.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and energy efficiency.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Valid practicing license from the Engineering Registration Board (ERB).
- Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in heavy industry/manufacturing environment, with experience in lime, cement, mining, or processing plants being an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
