The Zambia Aquaculture Project, funded by the European Union, is seeking a company or consortium to conduct an aquaculture carrying capacity assessment of selected zones on Lake Kariba. The core objective of this study is to determine the maximum sustainable number of fish cages that can be operated on the lake without compromising water quality, aquatic biodiversity, or the livelihoods of other lake users. This involves the application of advanced modelling tools and environmental monitoring techniques to estimate the physical, productive, ecological, and social thresholds for aquaculture activities.
