Chilanga Cement, Ndola Plant, is looking to recruit dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals to take up the roles of
SECURITY OFFICER (x1)
Overall Mission of the Role:
Define, support and follow up on the implementation of short-, medium- and long-term Security actions aligned with the strategic vision. Provide expert advice on Security issues to ensure cost effectiveness, sustainability and continuous improvement. Coach, guide and challenge management to drive for results
Performance Criteria
Focus on the “Zero – Theft” goal with the belief that all thefts are preventable.
The security professional plays a critical expert advisory role to the Core Management Team in security management issues at the plant.
Strive for continuous improvement.
Develops, adopts and implements the industry’s best practices and Group Security standards.
Effective communication of Security issues between management and employees.
Statutory compliance as a minimum standard.
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain plant security management operating systems, procedures and instructions.
Plan and implement annual security inspection schedules for the plant
Advise the management core team on the relevant security requirements in plant operations.
Report all theft incidents to management and relevant statutory institutions.
Investigate all theft related incidents.
Act as contact person for the relevant statutory institutions for incident and theft reporting.
Prepare consolidated security statistical analysis reports for management review and decision making on weekly, monthly and annual basis.
Plan, organise and or, conduct various security training programs, including security induction for all employees and contractors.
Organise and conduct regular security meetings to review security performance and communicating pertinent security issues.
Liaise with the Technical Department on security management issues.
Provide general security supervision during plant operations and shut downs.
Plan and organize security emergency drills at the plant
Conduct frequent plant security inspections and internal audits.
Develop and maintain the Plant security database.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Education background & Experience
Must have a Grade Twelve certificate with 5 O levels.
Basic Security Training Certificate
At least 2 years’ experience in Security Operations and Administration
Valid class B or C driver’s license
Technical Skills
Knowledge and experience in risk management techniques.
Knowledge of CCTV operations
Computer literate
Ability to plan and implement security programs.
Management skills.
Conversant with the local basic security legislation.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Package.
Knowledge and experience in crowd control management
Behavioral Skills
Self-motivated.
Team leadership.
Ability to influence and work with others
Development of others
Decision-making capacity
Anticipation / Initiative
Result oriented.
