Job description

Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and Agribusiness Company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region.  It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution, and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, leather, shoes, stock feed, and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

ZAMCHICK PROCESSING -SECTION SUPERVISOR – HUNTLEY FARM (X2)

 

The Required Skills for this Role Include:

Alerting the assistant processing manager to any deviation from the production plan immediately.
Prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met.
Conducting the required checks on start-up, during the shift, and sign off, and ensure the relevant data is recorded correctly.
Establishing the most efficient use of resources allocated to the line, i.e. cost, people, time, etc., ensuring that these are not wasted or misused.
Ensuring allocated resources are accounted for throughout the shift.
Reallocating work within the area of responsibility to ensure the achievement of production targets at the lowest possible cost.
Ensuring tools/equipment are utilized in the correct way.
Ensuring that the machinery and equipment required for production are working properly to enable correct levels of production output. Report faults/breakdowns immediately.
Monitoring the use of raw materials to minimize wastage.
Coordinating with counterparts on other lines to ensure the optimal use of resources.
Ensuring the smooth flow and movement of product through the plant to avoid contamination.
Working with existing processes and procedures in such a way that operational efficiencies and performance are enhanced.
Enforcing adherence to company procedures and standards.
Monitoring the removal of all reject/ non-conformance product from the line as per best operating procedure.
Recommending new and different ways of doing things to improve yield and performance (whilst still maintaining product integrity)

 

The Required Qualifications are:

Full Grade Twelve (12) School certificate
Diploma in food production or related field
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

 

The Required skills:

Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively
Ability to track KPIs
Ability to adjust to changing priorities and workloads.
Quality and Safety Awareness.
