Role Overview: Loan Collections Officer Jobs in Lusaka The Loan Collections and Recoveries Officer will manage daily loan collection activities and recovery efforts to minimize non-performing loans. This role also involves driving daily sales initiatives by engaging prospective clients and conducting field visits to verify client information and strengthen relationships. Key Responsibilities Collections & Recoveries: Monitor loan accounts for arrears, contact defaulting clients professionally, negotiate repayment plans, and enforce recovery procedures including collateral repossession when necessary. Sales & Client Onboarding: Conduct daily outreach to potential clients, interview applicants to assess financial needs, perform preliminary credit assessments, and guide clients through onboarding and documentation. Field Visitations & Relationship Management: Perform regular visits to client premises for verification and recovery purposes, maintaining respectful and professional communication throughout. Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate collection and sales reports, ensure compliance with financial regulations and lending policies, and maintain detailed records of client interactions and recovery actions. Qualifications and Experience Diploma or Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field is mandatory. A background or certification in Law or Legal Studies is highly advantageous for handling loan contracts and collateral enforcement. 1 to 3 years of practical experience in microfinance, credit collections, loan recoveries, or direct financial sales. Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities. High emotional intelligence with the ability to remain firm under pressure. Analytical skills to assess client cash flow and repayment capacity effectively. Physical fitness and readiness to travel frequently for field visits.
