SAFETY – SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT
Location: Chingola, Zambia

To support this vision, KCM is recruiting:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide subject matter expertise during the development of strategic business plans, ensuring HSE considerations are integrated into core operations.
• Interpret complex health, safety, and environmental legislation and translate it into actionable internal policies.
• Provide oversight and validation of risk assessments, process safety reviews, and environmental impact assessments.
• Act as a mentor and technical coach for HSE team members, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Lead post-incident reviews and advise on systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 15 years of progressive experience in SHE management, preferably within the mining sector.
• Proven leadership experience in managing multi-site operations.
• Demonstrated success in implementing SHE systems and driving cultural change.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient in conducting ESG assessments.
• Affiliation to a professional body.
