Safety Officer

Job description

ZAL Elevators Limited is seeking a highly organized and detail -oriented Safety Officer for a short -term contract for 3 months to provide essential support to the team on site. The safety Officer will ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations on site. Key Responsibilities;

1.      Develop, implement and monitor project HSE plan in line with our client, ZEMA, and Ministry of Labour requirements

2.      Conduct daily toolbox talks, site inductions, and risk assessments for all activities

3.      Inspect PPE usage, scaffolding, lifting equipment, electrical safety, and work-at-height

4.      Investigate and report all incidents/near misses; maintain accident register

5.      Liaise with client Safety Team, ZIOSH, and WCF on compliance matters

6.      Maintain all HSE documentation: method statements, permits-to-work, training records

Minimum Qualifications:             

1.      Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or National Examination Board in Occupational Safety Health IGC/Diploma

2.      Registered with ZIOSH – Zambia Institute of Occupational Safety & Health

3.      Minimum 3 years’ experience on construction/engineering projects

4.      Knowledge of Zambian OHS Act, Cap 441 and related regulations

5.      Should be available to start work immediately.
