Refinery Operator

Job description

Our client is seeking to recruit a Refinery Operator to maintain optimal continuous production at high efficiencies and acceptable quality, safety and housekeeping conditions and also to help factory leadership in identifying and articulating all improvement needs.

Reporting Structure
Reporting To: Shift Supervisor
Supervision Of: Self
Interacts With: Various stakeholders

Job Description
Taking samples of products from the production line for Quality analysis
Maintaining equipment in optimum condition
Keeping the environment of the refinery clean in line with GMP and 5S philosophy
Operates the equipment through physical checks to obtain consistent and continuous operation of the plant in line with the detailed production plans.
Taking readings of gauges and meters at regular intervals
Making records of operational parameters (Log sheets).
Troubleshooting minor problems
To comply with all safety rules laid down in the refinery
Ensuring all production tank levels are known and accurate during operations
To ensure compliance with relevant ISO, QMS, Food Safety, OHS & EMS policies and procedures

Candidate Specification
Experience: 3 years plus
Education Level: Diploma Level
Qualifications: Diploma preferably in Chemical/ Mechanical engineering or Science.
Software: MS Office
Equipment: Job related

Knowledge Of: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Skills To: strong analytical skills,and excellent communication skills
Other Requirements: Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
