The Secondary School Teacher will deliver knowledge and skills aligned with the organization’s educational policies, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for learners to thrive intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically.

Key Responsibilities for English Teacher Jobs in Lusaka

  • Student Management (20%): Oversee classroom instruction, track attendance, mediate conflicts, maintain academic records, and promote responsible use of resources.
  • Child Safeguarding (15%): Provide safe, affirming spaces; monitor wellbeing; report concerns promptly; maintain professional boundaries; participate in safeguarding training and follow all protocols.
  • Leadership (10%): Foster a positive school culture, encourage students, support problem-solving, and serve as a holistic role model.
  • Lesson Delivery (20%): Prepare and submit detailed lesson plans, model spoken English, implement curriculum and interventions, integrate social-emotional learning, and promote Christian values.
  • Student Discipline (10%): Enforce the student code of conduct, document disciplinary cases, and hold students accountable for school rules.
  • Time Management (5%): Ensure punctuality of students and activities, maintain attendance rosters, and manage daily schedules effectively.
  • School Environment and Maintenance (5%): Maintain clean classrooms and manage class supplies inventory.
  • Communication (5%): Follow communication protocols with supervisors and staff, and document important information promptly.
  • Classroom Security (5%): Secure classrooms after hours and ensure students are supervised at all times.
  • Records Management (5%): Maintain comprehensive teacher binders with student lists, attendance, behavior logs, lesson plans, and other essential documentation.
  • Exams (5%): Administer local tests, invigilate national exams, and provide accurate learner information as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in Secondary School Education
  • Valid Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
  • Excellent command of oral and written English
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-culturally and within faith-based settings

  • High integrity, accountability, and professionalism
