Job description

As a Quantitative Research Specialist at Simz Academy Ltd, you will be responsible for:

Overseeing and coordinating various quantitative research activities
Providing training and consultancy in quantitative research methods
Participating in managing the African Research Forum—a platform for teaching and research dissemination
Contributing to the development of research methods books and general academic publications

This is a unique opportunity to engage with quantitative research approaches and play a key role in advancing research within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee quantitative research activities across multiple projects
Provide training and mentorship in qualitative research methods
Contribute to running the African Research Forum
Contribute to research for publications, including research methods books and general academic outputs
Support the development and implementation of research strategies
Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting
Engage in online teaching and the facilitation of research training sessions

Qualifications and Requirements

A master’s degree in data science, statistics, demography, computer science, or a related quantitative social science field
Strong understanding of quantitative methods and techniques
Proficiency in statistical programming packages such as R, Python or Stata
Experience in online teaching and a passion for education
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with research dissemination and publishing
Experience with using the R statistical programming language
Knowledge of emerging research tools and technologies such as AI
Publication of at least one article in a peer-reviewed journal
